I have windows media services publishing point. i can connect this point via
media player using url like http://myserver/mypoint.nsc. when i use media
player activex i can play local file such as avis, but cant connect this
publishing point beacuse of error "interface not registered". i can run my
program that uses mp activex, on the server "myserver". it works fine on the
server, while it can not connect remotely. i dont think it is a permission
problem. i can connect the point via mp. do you have eny idea to solve this
problem?

i also tested this. i called my machine as A, other machine as B. both A and
B are windows server 2003 and have media services publishing points

mp activex can connect to both A and B when it runs on B.
mp activex can connect neither A nor B when it runs on A.

mp can connect to both A and B when it runs on A.
mp can connect to both A and B when it runs on B.

by saying can connect i mean watching the broadcast (multicast) by wms 2003.

i compile project on A. i used regasm and gacutil for wmppia.dll in both A
and B.

this problem doesnt depend on server. it is behaivor of mp activex. after
installing some sdk this problem occured. i can not find which installation
caused this. my application works fine on all of machines except mine that
is the developers machine. media player application works fine on my
machine. so it is not a server problem.

I'm unaware that direct usage of NSC files is really supported that way.
The server group should know better how the player handles NSC files.
They're kinda not really player files, which is why Chris suggested that the
people around here would not be the best to ask.

The windowsmedia.server newsgroup would probably be the best venue for this
question. Not to slight my SDK brethren, but you're asking server-based
questions, really. :)
